Marketing services for Ontario trades, and how to pick the first one

We offer five services, but most Ontario trades businesses only need one or two at the start. The right first step depends on where your jobs come from and where they leak.

We offer five services to Ontario trades and home-service businesses, and the honest answer is that you probably need one or two of them first, not all five. This page explains what each service is for and how to tell which one fits where your business is today. If you are unsure after reading, call, text or email and we will tell you in a few minutes.

Start here: the free 30-minute consultation

If you have never had anyone look at your marketing as a whole, start with the free consultation. It is the only service with no price attached, and it exists so you can decide on everything else with real information.

In 30 minutes we look at how customers find you, what a job is worth, and where calls are being lost. Owners often discover the problem isn't a lack of leads but a leak: a voicemail box that is always full, quotes that nobody follows up, or a Google profile listing the wrong service area. Fixing a leak is cheaper than buying more traffic.

If you are stuck with an agency that isn't working: switching cleanly

Choose the agency switch service if you already pay someone for marketing and suspect it isn't working, but you are worried about what you lose if you leave.

The fear is reasonable. Plenty of Ontario trades owners discover too late that their domain, their Google Ads account or their website is registered to the agency, not to them. We work through the handover in a fixed order: confirm what you own, recover access, copy your data, then make the move without a gap in calls.

Pick local search and Google Business Profile when people in your own service area search for your trade and see your competitors instead of you.

For most trades this is the highest-return work available, because the map results sit above the regular results on a phone, and they are free to appear in. The work covers your profile, your categories, your service area, your reviews and the pages on your site that back them up. It takes weeks to build rather than days, but once it is working you are not paying per click.

If you need calls this month: Google Ads and Local Services Ads

Pick Google Ads and Local Services Ads when you need calls quickly, or when you want to fill a specific type of job, such as replacements in a slow month.

Paid search is the fastest channel to switch on and the easiest to waste money in. We set it up around booked jobs, not clicks, keep the ad account in your name, and show you the platform spend separately from our management fee. If a campaign doesn't pay for itself after a fair test, we turn it off.

If people find you but don't call: websites built for calls and texts

Pick websites built for calls and texts when visitors reach your site but very few of them call. Usually this means the site is slow on a phone, hides the phone number, or says nothing a homeowner can't read on any competitor's site.

A trades website has one job: turn a stranger holding a phone into a call, a text or an email. We build sites that load fast, show the number on every screen, and give a homeowner a reason to pick you over the next result.

How the services fit together

The services work as a sequence more than a menu. A common order for an Ontario trades business is:

  1. Fix leaks found in the consultation (often free or nearly free).
  2. Build local search so the map results start working for you.
  3. Make sure the website converts the visitors that search brings.
  4. Add paid search to fill gaps in slow months or to target high-value jobs.

That order changes when the numbers say it should. A brand-new business with no reviews may need ads first, because local search takes time to build. Our pricing page explains how the services sit inside the monthly plans, and the results page shows what this sequence produced in our HVAC work.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to buy all five services?

No. Most clients start with one or two, usually local search plus either ads or a better website. The plan grows only when the numbers say it should.

Which service brings results fastest?

Google Ads and Local Services Ads can produce calls within days of launch, because you are paying for placement. Local search and websites take longer to build but keep working without a per-click cost.

Can you work alongside our existing web designer?

Yes. If your site is already sound, we can run search and ads and send your designer a short list of changes. We only suggest a rebuild when the current site is costing you calls.

Do you do social media management?

Social posting can sit inside a broader plan, but for most Ontario trades it is not the first priority. We would rather fix how customers find and call you before spending on posts.
